Bill Pertwee as Chief Warden Hodges

Bill Pertwee got the part of the warden just by chance as he never regarded himself as an actor. David Croft merely thought Bill would be good for the role as he had used him before as an extra in Hugh and I where he is seen pushing Terry Scott about and shouting "Oi, get out of it!"

Final years and deathEdit

Pertwee died in Truro, Cornwall, May 27th, 2013 at the age of 86.
