Hamish Roughead (5th March 1917 - 1992) was an actor who played Private Frazer in Dad's Army: A Nostalgic Music and Laughter Show of Britain’s Finest Hour.
Biography[]
Hamish Roughead was born in Aston, Birmingham. He decided on an acting career after being coerced into appearing in The Merchant of Venice while at Larbert High School, Stirlinghire, Scotland. His professional carrer has included the Glasglow Citizens' Theatre, the Edinburgh International Festival, the Phdochry Festival, Birmingham Rep and the Mermaid Theatre. His West End work includes roles in Ronald Millar's The Affair and The New man and in Lionel Bart's Oliver!, and also worked in the Donovan Mayle Theater, Nairobi, Kenya. His TV appearances include Dr Finlay's Casebook and The Borderers. He died in 1992 at the age of 74 in Wandsworth, London.
